Short-term visiting scientists program

We are currently inviting applications for our Short-Term Visiting Scientists Program. This initiative offers up to four awards to support one-month visits from external, established researchers and professors.

Each selected fellow will receive approximately €2,500 per month to help cover travel and living expenses. The primary aim of this program is to foster high-impact collaborations between Université Côte d’Azur (UniCA) and external research groups, while providing a unique opportunity for leading experts to engage with the LIGHTFAB network and its state-of-the-art facilities.

Eligibility

  • Target Profile: This call is exclusively open to external, established researchers and professors. (Note: PhD students and postdocs are not eligible for this specific call; see below).
  • Collaborative Focus: The proposed visit must demonstrate a clear intent to collaborate with UniCA research groups and actively engage with the LIGHTFAB network.

Important Dates

  • Open Call opening: September 7, 2026
  • Submission deadline: November 6, 2026
  • Announcement of selection decisions: November 13, 2026

How to Submit

To facilitate the review process, please submit your application as a single PDF document (2 pages maximum, excluding CV).

Your PDF should clearly outline:

  • The Visit Objective: A description of the scientific activities, seminars, or research you plan to conduct during your stay.
  • The Collaborative Impact: An explanation of how your visit will foster synergy between your home institution and UniCA/LIGHTFAB.
  • Brief CV: A short academic biography highlighting your current position and key expertise.

Young Researchers Visits (PhD, Postdocs)

Info While PhD students and postdoctoral researchers are not eligible for the Short-Term Visiting Scientists program, you are highly encouraged to apply to the dedicated Complex Systems Academy call.

If you are interested in visiting and collaborating with us through the Complex Systems Academy, the LIGHTFAB board would be delighted to provide a recommendation letter to support your application. Please check the Complex Systems Academy website for specific deadlines and submission details.
